Alexander Andreev, also known as Sasha, was born in eastern Russia and began dancing at the age of 7. Sasha won the championship of Far East of Russia in numerous age categories (junior, youth, and adults). He also won competitions in Japan (2000) and China (Harbin 2003). In 2003 Sasha moved to Moscow where he graduated from Moscow University as well as competed in the finals of many international competitions.
He relocated to the US in 2007 and during his first year in US he won many major US competitions in Professional Latin division such as Emerald Ball, Empire State Dancesport Championships, San Diego Dancesport Championships and Golden State Challenge, 3rd place in US National Professional Latin RS, and finalist of US National Professional South-American Showdance.
In addition to his competitive credits, Sasha is also an experienced tour and theater dancer, having been a featured dancer on the “Dancing With The Stars” live Las Vegas show in 2012. He performed solo routines with celebrities and pro dancers from DWTS, such as: Tia Cerrere, Kym Johnson, Chelsea Hightower etc.
Sasha is also a featured cast member of the 2009 and 2011 international tours of “Ballroom With a Twist” stage show, choreographed by Dancing With The Stars Emmy-nominated, Louis Van Amstel. Sasha performed solo routines in this show with Edyta Sliwinska from Dancing With The Stars.
